yesterday was the anniversery of nash's first (big time) concert. jonathon richman and willie nelson (not together) at the midtown music fest in atlanta, april 30, 1999. nash was just turned two. it was the shortest set I've ever seen jonathon play, and for the smallest crowd, but it worked well for the toddlers present (there were a handful). it was strange to see him outdoors, in broad daylight.
it was willie's birthday, and he was awesome, but we left halfway through because I couldn't tolerate the screaming guys behind us anymore. that night was also the first time nash rode the marta train. thrills galore!
